Quilting

The Nicolai Quilters are a dedicated group of women who have created and donated many quilts to church members, Lutheran Island Camp, Boy's Ranch, WRAP and to others in need.

At the February LWML meeting, they shared some of their experiences. They shared some quilting hints and told about the behind the scenes activities -  cutting, sewing, sharing and delivering quilts. Quilts are made from almost anything and all quilts are made with new batting inside.

The group accepts donations of fabric, recycled clothing and cash donations.  Below are some pictures as well as more information on the quilting projects. All women are encouraged to join the group for fun and fellowship or participate in any way possible!

Note: The 2004 LIC Quilt Auction netted approximately $18,000! The Nicolai Quilters donated quilts that sold for almost $2000! Thanks to the dedicated quilters for their loving service.
